Seminarian Manuelito Milo

“Becoming a priest or a religious is not primarily our own decision….Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love.” Those words of Pope Francis to novices and seminarians are certainly reflected in the testimonies from priests, religious and seminarians in our diocese. Listening to these inspiring interviews will provide you with a flavour of how that divine call is a call of love to serve Christ in the Church through consecration as a religious or ordination to the priesthood. This life-changing decision brings so much joy in the living out of a radical call to serve Christ totally and selflessly. If you are discerning God’s call of love in your life and you feel that He may be calling you to priesthood or religious life, please don’t hesitate to contact me so that we can explore it further.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in producing these video clips, particularly the priests, religious and seminarians of our diocese. A special word of gratitude to my predecessor Fr. John Murray who invested a lot of time into making this idea of the Diocesan Vocations Commission become a reality; to Shane McCourt, the website designer, to Paul MacAree, a producer with EWTN, who filmed the interviews and to EWTN for their support with this work; to Mary Davies, Secretary to the Diocesan Vocations Commission, who assisted in so many ways in the production of these videos. As Vocations Director I’m indebted to all of you for your help and support with this project.

Fr. Kevin McGuckien
